A Precious Gift--Never Forget Janessa & Hope Abigail

The mention of my daughter's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you really want to show me that you care, let me hear the beautiful music of her name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul.

"If you know someone who has lost a child, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died--you're not reminding them. They didn't forget they died.

What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that is a great gift."

Goodbye March

I always have such mixed feelings as March comes to an end.  I cry as it begins, I endure as I get through it and all its hard days, and then I rejoice and cry again as it leaves.

I say good riddance because I hate the hard memories and all the hard days in it.  I hate that it is the beginning of my grief journey and the last stop on my angel baby grief journey.  But, March connects me to Janessa even in all the hard memories it is my last way of remembering her.  It connects me to Rae Anne and my only memories of her.  Each March that passes represents more time apart from them more memories fading and more people forgetting about them.  I hate that 11 months from now this whole turmoil begins again.  The months between now and then seem to fly by.  My wish for myself is that I can start living again and not just counting the months between one March to the next March.

So for this year I say Goodbye March--see ya next year.

A Bread Dough Heart

Sometimes little hugs from Heaven come in the strangest ways.  Today I found a heart bubble in some bread dough I was letting raise on the counter.

Easter Sunrise

I tried to take pictures of the sunrise on Easter, but, again there were too many clouds so the sunrise wasn't what I had imagined or hoped for.

They don't know

I just found out about something that happened earlier in the month that makes me a little sad and upset, but, more happy and hopeful.  I still have the pinwheels in the shape of a 6 in my front lawn.  I wanted them to stay there for Rae Anne's Angel birthday this past week and then for Easter, but, after what happened I'm thinking of taking them out today.

Apparently some kids stole a pinwheel from my lawn.  Now, to most people who don't know my story it is just a $1 pinwheel that I have hundreds of.  They think I am just some sort of pinwheel addict that likes to use pinwheels for my outside decorations.
They don't know that 6 years ago my baby died and that every month of that first year I put pinwheels out for the number of months of how old she should have been as a way for me to find some sort of peace and calm in the grief storm I was navigating my way through.

They don't know that each of those pinwheels has a name of a beloved angel baby or child that is missed and loved and that the big pinwheel represents angel children all over the world.

They don't know that those pinwheels were a way for me to reach out and help others and the joy and peace that brought me.

They don't know that when I watch those pinwheels spinning in the wind that it brings me calm and peace and hope that our angel children are still alive in Heaven and that we will see them again.

They don't know that when I see those pinwheels, I don't just see pinwheels, I see a beloved angel child and a grieving parent who misses that child with all their heart.

They just see pinwheels, but, I see so much more.  For them 1 missing pinwheel is nothing, for me it is a bitter tragedy.

Now if this is where the story ended it would leave me feeling bitter and angry for the injustice and unkindness and cruelty of people in the world.  Thankfully, this is not the end of the story, because apparently two of my neighbors kids saw the pinwheel being stolen and they had courage and stood up for the pinwheels and were able to get the pinwheel back.  I don't know if my neighbors kids fully understand the meaning behind all the pinwheels, but, I do know that they understand how important they are to me and they respect that and stood up for it and that means so much to me.  Thank you Sally and Randi for raising Emily and Jack to know the importance of choosing right from wrong and for raising them to have courage to stand up for things, even if it was just a lowly pinwheel, because that means the world to me and gives me hope that there are still good and kind people in the world.

Decorating The Remembrance Stones for Easter

It has been a little weird trying to decorate the remembrance stones because of all the yucky, snowy weather we have been getting and then having Easter be in March trying to coordinate it around angel b-days.  I finally just decorated on Rae Anne's b-day so her stone has her Easter and b-day decoration all together.  I really wish Easter was just on a set day in April or at least day of the week like Thanksgiving.  Make it the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in April every year then it isn't this guessing game.  I really don't like it right after all my hard days in March.

The 2016 Easter Angel Tree

For part of Rae Anne's angel b-day we put up all the Angel Eggs onto the Easter Angel Tree. We put a bubble blowing machine by the tree so we blew "Love Bubbles" to Heaven to all of your angel children as we decorated the tree.
Here is the Easter Angel Tree for 2016 with about 450+ Angel Easter eggs on it. heart emoticon

Invitation to Our Temple Trek

I have decided this year to try and find acceptance and healing and joy on this new path that Heavenly Father has put me on.  I'm not sure how to do all of that yet.  One step at a time I guess.  In my quest to find my own rainbow healing without a rainbow baby I felt like I should challenge our family to make a Temple Trek this year.  Our goal is to walk from our house to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple which is about 4 miles away.  We are going to train for the next 5-6 months as we work our way up to walking that distance and have set the goal for Sept. 10th which is 1 day after Janessa's 1/2 birthday.  This walk is very symbolic to me because each mile I'll be walking in memory of one of my angel babies.  This walk also represents my walk into accepting this new life which is intermingled with grief and joy and that this journey will be okay just 1 step at a time.  It is also a time for family bonding as we get ready for changes that will be occurring later in the year when my son leaves on a 2 year church mission.  I'd like to invite any of you who would like to follow along on our journey to my new blog  OUR TEMPLE TREK.

Rae Anne's 2nd Angel Birthday

I am so glad that the predicted snowstorm on Rae Anne's b-day came in 1 day early and that for her angel b-day it was a pretty nice partially cloudy day.  We were able to make our chalk drawing birthday cards, put the angel eggs onto the Easter Angel Tree, blow love bubbles to Heaven, light our b-day candles and have our orange b-day dinner with owl plates and orange b-day cupcake and orange ice cream.  I always get to the end of the day and feel relieved that I survived the day and that I was able to do everything on my list, but, yet I still feel empty and sad and like there is something missing.  That's because the most important part of the the birthday--the birthday girl is missing.  Hard to believe that if Rae Anne were here my youngest would be 2 years old.  Time seems to pass so quickly now.  I am grateful to finally come to an end of my hard March days.  I wish it was the end of all the hard days, but, now we march forward to April where I have 2 due dates to get through and then on to Hope's angel birthday in about 6 weeks.  It seems like it is a never-ending grief cycle from Feb. to May--it really wears me out and makes me exhausted.

I am grateful that Rae Anne's b-day turned out as well as it could have.  I am grateful to have it behind me.  I am grateful for the few people that remembered.

At times there appears to be no light at the tunnel's end-no dawn to break the night's darkness. . .We feel abandoned, heartbroken, alone. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.
