For those of you who don't know what a Molly Bear is it is an organization that sends out weighted bears to those who have lost babies. The bears weigh what your baby did so my Janessa Molly bear weighs 4 lbs 15 oz. I always thought it was interesting that my 1st baby, Ashley, weighed 4 lbs 14 oz and then Janessa my last full term baby weighed almost the same. I remember when I got this Janessa bear in the mail and I held it for the first time and I cried because it truly felt like holding Janessa again. https://www.mollybears.org/our-story

A Precious Gift--Never Forget Janessa & Hope Abigail
The mention of my daughter's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you really want to show me that you care, let me hear the beautiful music of her name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul.
"If you know someone who has lost a child, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died--you're not reminding them. They didn't forget they died.
What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that is a great gift."

Celebrating Janessa's Short Little Life
I bought a cute little white outfit for Janessa's "molly bear" for her 8th angel birthday. I was going to wait until March 9th next year to dress her bear in it, but, as I got thinking about how between now and March 9th is actually Janessa's 8th anniversary of when she was alive I decided to celebrate her little life now and not just her death in March. I love how this little white outfit makes her "molly bear" look like an angel. I was also happy to be able to catch a crystal rainbow over the Janessa bear heart where there is a button that says Janessa.

Vacation
It's amazing how a vacation away from all the stress can help you catch your breath and breathe for a second. I was a little leery when we first arrived at the vacation house about feeling triggered, but, instead of feeling triggered I felt welcomed and like I had come home for a little escape to a magical house full of peace and calm. A few things had changed at the house but for the most part it was the same. The kids all excitedly picked a room most of them going for the same room they had stayed in 7 years ago. I smiled as I walked around and saw all the familiar sayings that had brought me peace last time and was happy to see that they had added more sayings and wall hangings.
I got a little worried when we pulled up and they were making repairs to the swamp cooler. That was the last thing I needed to see because it was going to be 99 degrees all week and I did not want to sit in a hot house sweating to death. I needn't have worried that swamp cooler along with a second swamp cooler they had added in the front room kept that house so cold that we actually were finding blankets to wrap up in!!! It worked better than my central air at home!!! I was excited to find my entry from 2010 that I had written in the guest book. That was like being able to see the past. I remembered how hard that vacation was 7 years ago as I was deep into grief over loosing Janessa and had no idea what was in store for me. I didn't blog, or facebook, or use the internet very much, I didn't know about Share and I had never met another woman who had had a stillborn baby. I felt very much like a freak and so very alone back then. 7 years ago I kind of just sat around at that house staring at the walls not really doing anything.

I did find it interesting that 7 years ago I went to this home trying to escape my grief for Janessa, and this time I went to this house trying to escape the grief and stress of my Dad stroke which has essentially stolen my Dad from me. It was so nice to just put all of that aside and not think about it for a while. I struggled the first day there trying to get into "vacation mode" so I just vegged out in front of the tv and watched some of my favorite fixer upper shows--that actually helped me to calm down and relax. I really struggled at night being able to sleep the whole week because I think at night my brain began to think again about all the problems and wouldn't shut off.
But, for the most part it was an awesome vacation and nice break from the day to day stress. We went and visited Cedar Breaks National Park and it was beautiful. It is 10,000 feet up so it was a great escape to go from the 99 degrees we were at to 70 degrees. It was their wild flower festival while we were up there and that was amazing to see all the beautiful flowers.
There is just something magical at that house to just be away from the normal day to day and just do fun activities like swimming, hiking, playing pool and air hockey, roasting marshmallows and watching movies together until midnight. I love all the encouraging sayings that are all over the walls.
My kids were really good sports and wore matching tee shirts for a family picture and then we recreated pictures we have taken in the past and that was a lot of fun too. Roland and I discovered Cedar Breaks National Park on accident 25 years ago when we took a wrong road on our honeymoon. It has been fun through the years to take pictures with our growing family by the same sign.
I am so grateful we got a chance to escape for a little bit, it is really hard to come back home.

Decorating Janessa's Grave for the 4th of July
Went out to the cemetery tonight to decorate Janessa's grave for the 4th of July. I never quite know how to feel when I am out there anymore.
This year we are going on a family vacation to a rental house we went to 7 years ago 6 months after Janessa died. I tried to find peace in that house because I was going crazy trying to deal with the reality of Janessa's death. Back then I think I was trying to make it all go away and that after 6 months it wouldn't hurt as bad and I would easily be able to cope with life. 7 years later I know the truth--the hurt never goes away. You learn to cope with it better and you learn to live with the grief and make it a part of your life. I'm still a little nervous about going back to that house hoping those trigger memories don't haunt me there.
Today for some reason that scene of giving birth to Janessa in absolute silence and my obgyn placing her little still body on my stomach and me reaching out to her keeps replaying over and over in my mind, it's as if my mind is trying to cope with something--may be the fear of the rental home, or seeing a 3 week old baby in a waiting room, or just all the stresses of my life this week.

Be Still and Know that I am God
Sometimes God
Calms the Storm . . .
Sometimes He let's the Storm rage
and Calms His Child.
Author Unknown
At times there appears to be no light at the tunnel's end-no dawn to break the night's darkness. . .We feel abandoned, heartbroken, alone. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.
-President Thomas S. Monson
We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
