A Precious Gift--Never Forget Janessa & Hope Abigail

The mention of my daughter's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you really want to show me that you care, let me hear the beautiful music of her name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul.

"If you know someone who has lost a child, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died--you're not reminding them. They didn't forget they died.

What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that is a great gift."

6 Months

It has been 6 months since my Dad died.  This month has been really tough.  My nephew received his mission call.  My other nephew returned home from his mission.  My niece got married.  And on Sunday it will be my parents anniversary.  These are all things my Dad should be here for.  Instead my Mom attends these events alone and looks a little lost.  I just feel void and empty.  Next week my granddaughter will be blessed--another event my Dad should be here for but is missing.  This is so hard!   Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who remembers the 27th anymore and maybe that is because I was there when he died.  There is just so much confusion inside me.  I know I will see my Dad again.  I know he is still alive in Heaven.  I know he is much happier in Heaven than he was suffering in his body that wasn't working for him.  I just wasn't ready to have my Dad leave my life so soon.  I still need him to be here and it is really hard to have him gone.  I guess I just haven't accepted the reality that he is dead.

I am grateful that Heavenly Father gave us an extra year with my Dad last year to celebrate all the holidays one last time together.  I am grateful my parents had one last time to celebrate their anniversary last July.  I am grateful my parents were married in the temple so death is not the end of their marriage, but, just a temporary goodbye and that someday they will be reunited and still be sealed together.

I hate that people now look at my grief and think get over it already--it's been 6 months--he is dead there is nothing you can do about it--accept it and move on.  That seems so cold, so mean.  Am I crazy???  Is death just suppose to be this meaningless thing you just toss lightly aside and never think about the person again unless you happen to decide to go put flowers on their grave on memorial day???  How do you just forget about a lifetime of memories???  How do you just so casually move on when someone you loved is taken too soon????  Is it because they have never experienced the death of a baby or a parent???  It just leaves me feeling very, very, alone........again.  I hate how people in our day and age treat death and grief--like it is some disease that you quickly extinguish and never speak of again.  I hate that everyone just expects me to just get over it and can never give me the time to grieve and just accept me for who I am.

Grief SUCKS!!!!

Hope's 7th Angel Birthday

So grateful for the beautiful sunrise for Hope's 7th Angel Birthday. It's been strange having a nice day for an angel b-day. For Janessa and Rae Annes it rained and was cold and there was only clouds for the sunrise. Still not able to do all the familiar things that I'm use to on Hope's b-day, but, maybe next year won't be as stressful. Grateful that after today is the end of my trigger days for my angel babies until Sept. It is a big relief to get to this point, especially this year because the trigger days have been so much harder.

My daughter is expecting her 1st child, my 1st grandchild, in what was suppose to be June. Last week at 35 weeks she was diagnosed with toxemia and has been at the hospital on bed rest living from blood pressure reading to blood pressure reading. It has been really hard for her and her husband. I've had melt downs because this was the week I was praying we could just hurry past and skip to past 37 weeks because 36 weeks is when I loss Janessa. Having my daughter in the hospital at this time is the worst, but, it is also in a weird way the best way for her to get past these 2 weeks because the baby is monitored 4 times a day where my daughter gets to hear the baby's heartbeat and know that she is okay. Tomorrow is that dreaded 36 weeks. It at times is hard being with my daughter in the labor and delivery room that has become their permanent home for the next 2 weeks. It is at times a big reminder of delivering Janessa, but, again maybe this was God's way to help ease me into being comfortable there so that it won't be as big of a stress for me when my granddaughter is born. It has just added some extra stress into my life and been kind of a reminder of having to go to the hospital with my Dad, at least I got use to being at a hospital so that feels like 2nd nature for me. In trying to relieve some stress and trying to recognize Hope on her b-day and not being able to do everything that I normally do, I bought my soon to be granddaughter some baby clothes with ladybugs on it.

Be Still and Know that I am God

At times there appears to be no light at the tunnel's end-no dawn to break the night's darkness. . .We feel abandoned, heartbroken, alone. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.
