A Precious Gift--Never Forget Janessa & Hope Abigail

The mention of my daughter's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you really want to show me that you care, let me hear the beautiful music of her name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul.

"If you know someone who has lost a child, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died--you're not reminding them. They didn't forget they died.

What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that is a great gift."

4 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

4 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

Feb 10--Help 10 people smile this week.  Ideas: smile, do acts of service, send a text-letter-card just to say hi and you are thinking of them to 10 people.

After Janessa died I loved all the cards that were sent to us.  I lined them all up on the piano and they brought me comfort and peace just looking at them because they represented that Janessa's short little life mattered.  Today is also my Dad's b-day in Heaven.  It is hard to not have him here and having a party with his annual angel food cake.

Valentines Day at the cemetery--YUCK!

I went to decorate my Dad's grave for his b-day tomorrow and decided to just stop by Janessa's grave on the way back and give her a little teddy bear valentine.  Now I remember why I stopped going to her grave in January/February after I sloshed through the wet/muddy grass and dug through the snow and ice to find her headstone--YUCK!!  It just makes me angry and sad when her grave is like that because it is a big reminder that this is the LAST place I want to be delivering a valentine!

Happy 1 Month to your 10th Angel b-day--See ya in a month <3

Wish you were here in person Janessa to give you a Valentine--Love You and Miss You :`(

10 Year Angel B-day Blues

Today it is officially 1 month, 4 weeks, 30 days to Janessa's 10th angel b-day; I don't know how we got here again!  I decided it was time to start planning things for her birthday so I pulled out my container with all the unicorn stuff I have been acquiring these past 11 months.  I dumped it all out and started arranging it then just sat there frozen, overcome with sadness that I was having to plan yet another angel b-day.

10 years is too long to be apart.

10 years is too many b-day grave decorations I have planned.

I just fell apart looking at all the cute unicorn decorations.  THIS SUCKS!!!!--I want to be planning  a real b-day unicorn party for Janessa, NOT planning how to decorate her grave!  10 is a big age--you've finally reached double digits--its time for a big party and a $10 bill.  But, when your dead 10 is an awful number to reach!   I really wanted to take all that unicorn stuff and throw it against the wall.  I don't want to celebrate another angel b-day.  I want to run far away from here but, there is no where far enough that I could hide from all the trigger memories that begin now.

10 years and I still ache to hold my little girl.

I definitely have the 10 Year Angel Birthday Blues :`(

6 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

6 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

Jan 27--Take care of yourself this week.  Write down 10 things you like about yourself and repeat 10 times this mantra to yourself this week: "I am a beloved Daughter/Son of Heavenly Parents with a divine nature and eternal destiny."

It is interesting that 2 of the Mondays that are part of this 10 week countdown are hard trigger days for me regarding my Dad.  Today is the first hard day--January 27th.  2 years ago on this day I watched my Dad pass away from complications associated with his stroke.  I chose take care of yourself because with grief I have had a hard time not blaming myself and talking negatively to myself.

7 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

7 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

Jan 20--Donate $10 to someone this week.

For Janessa's 4th Angel b-day I started putting the pinwheels out into the shape of her age.  I will probably only do this until her 12th b-day.  I had my 3rd miscarriage this year and it was the last time I was able to get pregnant so all my dreams of having a rainbow baby disappeared this year with my 4th angel baby.

8 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

8 Weeks to Janessa's 10th Angel B-day

Jan 13th--Notice 10 acts of kindness around you or in the news and write them down.

I started writing Janessa's name creatively this year.  I chose noticing acts of kindness in memory of the small acts of kindness people have done for me like a nurse at the hospital who held Janessa and talked to her and treated her like she was an alive baby and who took pictures of Janessa with little stuff animals.  For another nurse who made a blanket for us.  For the many people who gave us money to help pay for her headstone and funeral.  For the many people who have written Janessa's name and kept her memory alive by saying her name and writing her name.

Be Still and Know that I am God

Sometimes God
Calms the Storm . . .
Sometimes He let's the Storm rage
and Calms His Child.
Author Unknown

At times there appears to be no light at the tunnel's end-no dawn to break the night's darkness. . .We feel abandoned, heartbroken, alone. If you find yourself in such a situation, I plead with you to turn to our Heavenly Father in faith. He will lift you and guide you. He will not always take your afflictions from you, but He will comfort and lead you with love through whatever storm you face.

-President Thomas S. Monson
