WELCOME TO PINWHEELS FROM HEAVEN. ANNUAL EVENTS FOR PINWHEELS FROM HEAVEN:

(1) Once your angel baby/child is on my Angel Birthday List
they will be remembered in their birthday month in a special Angel Birthday blog post and picture. They will also be remembered on their special angel b-day on my PinWheels From Heaven Face book page.

(2) Oct. 15th--Wave of Light: Each year on this date I will be creating a PinWheel Healing Field in my front yard using all the angel baby/child's pinwheels and light candles by the pinwheels in remembrance of all of our angels.

(3) Christmas Angel Tree--For the month of December I will be hanging ornaments with all of your angel baby/children's names written on them on my outside angel tree. On Christmas Eve I will light candles around the Angel Tree in remembrance of all of our angels.

(4) Easter Angel Tree--For Easter I will be hanging plastic Easter eggs with all of the angel baby/children's names written on them on my outside angel tree. I will light candles around the tree on Easter in remembrance of all of our angels.

I Love Valentines Day!

Everyone seems to think Valentines Day is only about the sappy love stories found in hollywood movies. That is NOT how I view Valentines Day. I loved it as a kid because I looked forward to making the valentine box at school that would be filled with little valentines and candy that I would enjoy opening later. I loved the games and treats and parties and different types of school work we got to do on this holiday. I absolutely loved coming home and finding a homemade valentine from my parents with a piece of chocolate candy on it and I loved making and decorating sugar cookies.

As I've grown older I loved helping at the school for the valentine parties and watching the kid's excitement as they happily passed out their valentines. I love seeing "heart attacks" that people do around the neighborhood leaving positive heart messages to doors with a plate of heart cookies. I love seeing the cute homemade valentines that are posted on face book. One of the things I did miss about pulling my school out of public school and into homeschooling was missing out on the valentines day parties. I've tried to make up for it each year as we have little valentine holders that we make valentines and fill up. I always plan a fun party and I always try to heart attack my kids doors and make each of them a homemade valentine. Some years have gone better than others. This year some of my kids don't want to participate in the valentine celebrations declaring it is a stupid holiday only for lovers and I say bah humbug to that. Valentines Day is about showing love to everyone and taking some time to let people know that you care.

And hey let's admit it--who doesn't love a holiday where you don't get older, you get to make cute little messages for others, and you can eat candy and chocolate and NOT feel guilty.

I saw this article in the paper that made me smile because it is exactly the reason why I love this holiday so much. This kid decided he wanted every girl in his high school to feel special on valentines day so he saved up his money and bought 900 carnations that he handed out to every single girl in his school--that is so AWESOME!!!

So I say BAH HUMBUG to Valentines Day only be for lovers or the other sappy term "single awareness day"-- VALENTINES DAY is for EVERYONE! Show someone you care and go do something kind.
