Just for today, I will not be afraid to be me. I will take off the
mask
that I've been hiding behind since my child died, and I will cry when I feel
the tears coming, I will say the things that are on my heart, I will be open
and honest when I tell others how much it hurts, and I will not be embarrassed,
ashamed, or think I'm weak. I am a parent of child loss. I
am a survivor of the most horrible act anyone can ever experience and sometimes
I need to "let it all out" without fear of being judged by others. So
bear with me and simply let me be me for today -- a hurting soul who is missing
my child with all of my being." -- A grieving parent's creed (written by
Clara Hinton)
